An obese groom who lost 13 stone ahead of his wedding revealed how he shifted the weight by changing his diet after spending years looking for a 'quick fix'.
Dean Woods, 31, of Ebw Vale, South Wales, piled on the pounds after popping the question to girlfriend Isabel Cook, 29, tipping the scales at 27st 6lbs at his heaviest.
But he was determined to lose weight before their 'fairytale' wedding in August and overhauled his diet, swapping sugar-laden snacks for fish with fresh vegetables.
In just 18 months Dean lost 13 stone – almost half his body weight.

Personal struggle: Dean was 'heavy' but piled on the pounds after proposing to Isabel
Dean's diet before
Breakfast: Full fry up
Lunch: Pizza
Dinner: Curry with chips. Dean said he had 'huge portions' for every meal
Snacks: Gorged on chocolate every day
Dean's diet after
Breakfast: Fresh fruit with Weetabix
Lunch: Baked fish with oven-baked potato chips and asparagus and spinach
Dinner: All-day breakfast
Snacks: Chocolate but smaller portions
Dean, a musician, said he has never felt better and is now looking forward to married life with Isabel.
He said: 'I married Bel who is my own princess in the wedding of our dreams followed by the honeymoon of our dreams. The wedding was emotional – I was fine until I got to the church.'
The couple met while playing in their local brass band. Dean used to be left embarrassed by his size and was mortified when he had to use the fire exit of his local football club rather than the turnstile due to his 58in waist.
He also suffered from depression and high blood pressure.

Battle: Dean tried 'pills and potions' in a bid to find a quick fix weight loss solution

In love: The couple, pictured before Dean's weight loss, carefully planned their perfect day
Dean described himself as 'heavy' when he proposed but continued to put on weight throughout the engagement.
Desperate, he started 'trying pills and potions' in September 2015. 'I was looking for a quick fix,' he added.
But he eventually realised he had to tackle the problem gradually and set about changing his diet, adding fresh fish and vegetables. He also joined Slimming World.
He said: 'My breakfast includes fresh fruit with Weetabix and milk. Lunch is baked fish with oven-baked potato chips and asparagus and spinach.

Confident: Dean, pictured today, said he feels and looks better than he ever has done

New chapter: The musician, pictured today, feels like he can 'start living his life now'
'Dinner can be almost anything. My favorite is an all-day breakfast complete with hash browns, sausages, bacon and all the trimmings.'
The hard work meant Dean could pose for wedding photos with confidence.
He said: 'I can start living my life now… I no longer worry about my health now or in the future as I feel and look great.'
Isabel added: 'It was a dream day and I'm very proud of him.'
