A dog is a man's best friend, but the owners behind these comical snaps could probably do with some distance from their faithful companion.
The snaps shared on social media by animal lovers around the world capture loyal dogs who love nothing more than being close to their master, whether they're on the sofa, in the car – or even in the bathroom.
From the deliriously happy looking pooch placing a proprietorial paw – and claw – on its owner's face in bed, to the man whose shaggy pup is curled up so close its impossible to tell where his beard ends and his dog begins, these dogs are nothing if not devoted.
And it's not just canine pets keeping their owners close – the gallery features some very needy cats, too…
