‘I’m so proud of you’: Shayne Ward posts heartfelt tribute to his Call The Midwife star fiancée
Viewers were left in floods of tears last night, after emotional scenes during Call The Midwife‘s second episode of series seven.
But it seems no one was left more moved than soap star Shayne Ward – who actually has a very personal connection to one of the episode’s stars.
His fiancée, soap actress Sophie Austin, made her debut as an expectant mother in the Sunday night episode, in a tense and emotional storyline.

Her character, Marjory Chivers, suffered a stroke shortly after giving birth. And the plot inevitably sparked emotional scenes.
Following the episode’s end, Shayne took to Twitter to pay an adorable tribute to his GF, for her emotional performance.
He wrote, “That was heartbreaking to watch.
“Beautiful performances tonight @CallTheMidwife1 I’m So proud of you @SophieAustin1 A true & honest portrayal. Congratulations Xxxxx”
