Spanish Word of the Day: ‘Callejear’

When visiting a new town or city, isn't it nice to explore it on foot?

Callejear means to wander or meander in the majority of cases.

Let's see it being used:

  • Me encanta callejear por la cuidad cuando hace sol.

I love wandering around the city when it's sunny.

  • Llevo todo el día callejeando porque no tenía nada que hacer.

I spent all day wandering around because I had nothing to do.

You can also use it when talking about 'taking the scenic route' or 'going around the houses' if you can't take the main roads and have to go onto a less-obvious path.

Pronunciation:

kah-yeh-khe-ahr
