Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes believes hes ready to make a move to the Premier League this summer amid reported interest from Manchester United.

Fernandes, 24, has had an eye-catching season at Sporting, scoring 26 goals in 45 games, and his performances have caught the attention of a host of Europes elite clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

United have spoken to Sporting and Fernandes entourage over a possible deal and both Chelsea and Liverpool have also been scouting the Portugal international in recent months.

Though Fernandes has a €100m (£87m) release clause in his contract at Sporting, United are hopeful that the Primeira Liga outfit will lower their asking price to around €58m (£50m).

Fernandes rejected offers from England and Spain last summer as he did not feel prepared for the high numbers of games, but he now feels he is ready for the step up.

He told Sport TV: Last year I received approaches, mainly from England and also from Spain, but I did not feel prepared to go.

Not because of difficulty, but for the high number of games in England.
