Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno says that the Gunners dressing room was very mad and crazy after Watford came from two goals behind to draw 2-2 at Vicarage Road on Sunday.

Unai Emerys side were leading 2-0 at half time thanks to a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang brace but had something of a meltdown after the break as Watford stormed back into the game.

Tom Cleverley got one back for the Hornets after Sokratis Papastathopoulos gave the ball away in his own penalty area, then Roberto Pereyra scored from the spot after being tripped by David Luiz.

Leno has attempted to explain Arsenals spectacular demise in the second half, admitting that his team were lucky to come away with a draw by the end of 90 minutes.

I think in the second half we lost completely the control of the game, said Leno. The distance from the midfield to the strikers and all the distances from the players were too big. Watford deserved at least the draw.

It was very frustrating because we controlled the game but also in the first half, you could see that we made two easy mistakes and then at the end we conceded two goals from these kind of mistakes and we were lucky we didnt lose this game.

The inquisition began immediately after the final whistle in Watford and the German stopper said it took Emerys calming nature to keep things under control.

Everybody was angry and disappointed after this game. The manager is a very positive guy, Leno continued.

He wants to be positive and he said we will analyse this game with time. Now everybody was with emotions, very mad and crazy.

But that is normal after the game. He said “calm down and then on Tuesday we analyse this game and then on Thursday we have another game.”
